Packing
Please bring the required items and uniform listed below and we highly recommend the suggested items too.
When you arrive at camp, you will be provided with 4 uniform shirts (2 for returning staff) at no charge. The colors will be based on your campus: red and gray for Equinunk and blue and grey for Blue Ridge.
- It gets cool throughout the summer, especially in the early mornings and late evenings. It is very important to bring the required amount of sweatshirts and sweatpants for those colder days.
- Although we have beautiful hot sunny days, we may also have some rainy weather at times. Please bring appropriate footwear and a rain jacket.
- We recommend bringing enough toiletries for the first week of camp due to luggage restrictions while flying. Throughout the summer, you can purchase more toiletries and essential items at a nearby convenience store during your time off.
Health Center, Medication & Food Information
Our health center is free to staff while at camp. We have a professional staff of registered nurses and Physicians. During orientation, you will be told about the protocols for visiting the health center and where to store any medication, as no medication is permitted in the bunks or shared accommodation.
We have a wide range of food options at camp.
Breakfast – it rotates between eggs, pancakes, french toast, potatoes, and more. We always have available yogurt, fruit, granola, bread and soy nut butter, oatmeal and cereal.
Lunch and Dinner – we will serve items like grilled chicken, pizza, grilled cheese, pasta, BBQ, and more! There is also always a salad bar available at lunch & dinner.
At all meals, staff sit with their bunk or department and are served food family-style by our professional wait staff.
- All food at camp is peanut, tree nut, and sesame-seed-free, and we are allergy-aware.
- Please note any allergies in your health history form on your MyEBR account.
- During the meals, there is a separate table called the “Alternative Foods Table” where you can get your food based on your dietary needs. In order for this to be available to you, please let us know beforehand.

CECBR Programs & Traditions
Building character, while making new friends and getting out of our comfort zone is what camp is all about. Showing empathy and integrity at camp helps to build ones character and we recognize that.
We recognize our campers and staff who display important character traits at a weekly campfire with an “Owl Recognition.”
Each week at our Friday Night Services, campers and staff are selected by their peers and camp leadership to receive an ‘B’, ‘E”, or Owl Award recognition. A plaque in each bunk lists the award criteria and camp staff speak about the characteristics throughout the week when discussing camper and staff expectations.

What to Expect
During orientation, you will participate in training sessions with our leadership team and visiting speakers. You will review our policies and guidelines, learn more about your role, and receive a tour of campus. It is also a great opportunity for our staff to get to know one another and really get a sense of what CECBR is all about.
There will be ample time to connect with others and enjoy organized activities so you can start making new friends.
Staff will be designated days and evenings off throughout the summer.
NOTE: Before leaving camp for a day off, staff must ensure their accommodations are clean and neat and that any required duties have been completed. Camp provides transportation for some days and evenings off, so you can leave campus. Your day off will end at the camp-wide 12:30 AM curfew.
Camp facilities and activity areas, except the waterfront, motorized equipment, adventure elements, and culinary areas, are available for staff use and enjoyment during their leisure time, provided that these areas are not closed or scheduled for camper programming.
The following camp facilities and services are available for staff recreation:
– Movie Theater at CE
– Staff Lounges
– Fitness Centers
– Camp-sponsored transportation and events
We ask for your help in trying to preserve the innocence of our camp environment in a technology-driven world.
It is imperative that our staff follow the Staff Electronics policy that has been emailed to them.
In-bunk counselors will be provided with a locker to keep their electronics safe and charged, as they are not permitted in the bunk with campers.
Look out for the email entitled “IMPORTANT Orientation Guide, Policy Review & Electronics Policy!!” for more information.
Our professional laundry staff does camper and staff laundry weekly at our on-site facility. Your laundry will be washed with others living in your bunk. Please be sure to label your clothing with proper markers. You can also use the staff laundry facility during your off-time.
There is no cost to use the laundry facilities at camp.
